This course addresses the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients with life-limiting illnesses. It covers opioid stewardship, non-pharmacologic pain management, and breaking bad news.
Learning Objectives
- Assess pain using multidimensional scales.
- Calculate opioid conversions and manage side effects.
- Facilitate "Goals of Care" conversations with families.
- Manage non-pain symptoms (nausea, dyspnea, delirium).
- Distinguish between palliative care and hospice care.
Prerequisites
- Medical license (MD, DO, NP, PA, RN).
